Rute’s planner: six vans on a map of Copenhagen, the orders grouped by deadline and a timeline for each driver

01Context

Same-day business deliveries often run on phone calls, spreadsheets and a planner’s memory. A deadline slips without anyone noticing until the customer calls, and the recipient is told “sometime today”.

02Approach

One live plan with three views of it. The customer books in a minute, the planner sees every van and every deadline at once, and the driver gets one stop at a time with proof of delivery built in. A problem shows up before it happens, with a fix attached.

03Product

A planner: orders grouped by deadline, six routes on a live map of Copenhagen, a timeline for each driver, and an alert when a stop is about to miss its window, with a one-click re-plan.

A booking portal for business customers with clear deadlines and prices, a tracking page that gives the recipient a 20-minute window, and a driver app for scanning parcels and taking signatures.

04System

An interactive prototype that runs in the browser. Routes are planned along real Copenhagen streets from OpenStreetMap data, and a simulated clock moves the vans and updates every screen. There is no backend yet.

Built with React · TypeScript · Vite · SVG · OpenStreetMap data

05Outcome

Designed to catch a late delivery before it happens, and to fix it in one click.

Built to replace “sometime today” with an arrival window the recipient can plan around.
