Kvarter

Neighbourhood delivery platform

Bike delivery for the independent shops in one neighbourhood, with riders paid by the hour and every krone of the price out in the open.

Interactive prototypeIndependent Jinjr product concept

Kvarter’s shop console: a new delivery from a florist on Værnedamsvej, the price split and riders nearby on a map of Vesterbro

01Context

Riders in Denmark say delivery pay keeps falling. One offer we have seen: two deliveries over a 19 km route for 121.62 kr. That is about 6.40 kr a kilometre, before fuel.

Meanwhile, the independent shops on a street like Værnedamsvej have no simple way to get a parcel to a customer three streets away.

02Approach

Keep every trip short, local and on a bike: one neighbourhood, three kilometres at most. Then put the money in the open. The shop, the rider and Kvarter all see the same split, and a guaranteed hourly floor tops up the slow shifts.

03Product

A console where a shop calls a rider in seconds, an offer screen that shows the rider the pay, the distance and the hourly rate before they accept, and a live tracking page for the customer.

An open pay page: the split of every delivery, the hourly floor, a fair check against long-distance offers, and pay rules that only change with notice and a rider vote.

04System

An interactive prototype that runs in the browser. Riders follow real streets and bike lanes from OpenStreetMap data, routes are planned on the bike network ahead of time, and a simulated clock moves everything. There is no backend yet.

Built with React · TypeScript · Vite · SVG · OpenStreetMap data

05Outcome

Designed so a rider can check the pay before saying yes, and count on a floor.

Built to show that delivery can be small, local and fair, and still fast.
